I took this class to fulfill a general education requirement and as part of my Associate's of Science degree in Speech Communication.
1. My favorite assignment was the applied speech, where I got to share one of my passions with my fellow classmates. I did a speech about working for the Boy Scouts of America, and I was able to create a powerpoint presentation with some pictures from camp.

2. I have learned to become a more confident speaker in my life and in my other classes. Almost every class includes presentations of some sort, and I have learned to be able to present my material professionally and in a well organized way. I teach CPR and First Aid classes professionally, and this class has definitely helped me out in my business. I feel fairly comfortable speaking in front of people already, but I have learned to concentrate on not using casual/filler words like "um" or "you know"- I feel that being more mindful of this will make me a better speaker and communicator.
